You Call It Shaming, I Call It Accountability
So the president has COVID-19. Welcome to the club of 7,567,297, Donny. Cannot say we’re surprised to see you. Quite frankly, we’ve been waiting. I mean, watching you play COVID roulette the past 9 months, it really was only a matter of time.
So, here we are, awaiting updates — not that anyone believes your personal doctor whose magical scale clocks you at 243 pounds. And while we refresh Twitter for news on your condition, we are watching as your equally careless cronies drop like bugs around a zapper at twilight.
In the past 24 hours, the names have piled up: POTUS, FLOTUS, Kellyanne Conway, Hope Hicks, Senator Ron Johnson, Senator Thom Tillis, Senator Mike Lee, Ronna McDaniel, your campaign manager Bill Sepien, Notre Dame President John Jenkins, Chris Christie, 11 staffers from the debate, 3 White House reporters… hell, all that’s missing is a partridge in a damned pear tree, Donald.
And now, with this morning’s update from your doctor, stating that we are 72 hours into your diagnosis? Doing the math, you announced your positive status at 1am Friday morning. That would put us only 36 hours in, so… It appears that your campaign actually knew you were ill the morning after the debate and told NO ONE.
(As of hitting publish on this piece — your doctor is now trying to backtrack on his statement. TIP: Have your idiots get their cover-up straight before they talk. It’s already hard enough to believe anything you or your dullards say, 20,000+ lies and all…)
Since writing about Trump’s diagnosis yesterday, and being completely frank in my lack of sympathy for him, I have received an endless stream of sanctimonious drivel to my inbox and my DMs. I have watched as MAGAts have poured forth demanding we show empathy, respect for him in his condition. That we pray for him, lift him up.
Here’s my message for all of you: POUND SAND.
This waste of flesh is directly responsible for 213,716 dead Americans. He is on tape as far back as February stating he knew how deadly, how contagious, how dangerous is this virus, yet he has spent the better part of 2020 downplaying it, mocking liberals, casting aside scientists. He refused to wear a mask for MONTHS, made them verboten in his presence, denying White House staff the ability to protect themselves. He rambled on about dangerous unproven drugs, has dangled a supposed vaccine like an electoral carrot. He has uttered precious few words about the dead, is on the record as withholding aid to states whose governors were not nice to him. He has galavanted across the country holding rallies in airport hangers, bringing thousands of unmasked cultists together. And this past Saturday, he held a tightly packed event in the Rose Garden to announce the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. That list above? The majority of them were all in attendance, unmasked, shaking hands, hugging, even moving indoors for more pats on the ass.
So spare me your reprimands for not speaking of him or them in gentle tones, or blanketing them with sympathy. They all deserve to be marched naked through DC like Cersei in Game of Thrones.
What you call shaming, I call accountability. And GOPers are notoriously averse to any of that.
213,716 dead citizens. All of them leaving friends, families behind to forever deal with the trauma, the loss. Dropped at hospital ER doors, never to be seen alive again. If families are lucky, a doctor or nurse has been able to hold an ipad up to their unconscious face so loved ones may say one last goodbye. Desperately sick people who have been sent home because they were not yet sick enough to take a bed in an already struggling hospital. Loved ones faced with a deteriorating spouse, parent, child, gasping on a couch, trying to gauge if their lips are blue enough to take them back. That scenario has played out over and over and over again across this country. Graves are filled with those who died at home. Graves are filled with those who did everything right to try to stay safe, but succumbed.
Yet the president, who flouted every warning, every guideline, every simple precaution, is ensconced in Walter Reed receiving the type of care we mere mortals can only dream of should we contract COVID-19.
Prior to being whisked away on Marine One, he received an experimental drug cocktail, as yet unapproved by the FDA. It was done under “compassionate use” — that normally means when a patient is so far gone that “Eh, it couldn’t hurt… OK, go ahead.” He is receiving personal around the clock care. He will receive no bill for it, as we continue to pay for his nonchalance and disregard.
So fuck you and your demands for civility, your drivel that we should bend a knee to this petulant manbaby who is where he is because of his own damned behavior. The whole when they go low, we should go high thing? I love Michelle Obama, but no.
The GOP lives in the gutter and that is where they must be met. In the history of this world, every conflict fought, every civil right that has been wrestled for — higher ideals are nice, but there have to be people willing to get in the mud and do the real fighting. Relying on a demographic of garbage humans to do the right thing is worthless. Just when you think they can go no lower, they always pull out a bigger backhoe and keep digging.
Low is where they live. Think not? This morning’s latest addition to the COVIDiot Hall of Shame is Chris Christie, former New Jersey governor and criminal. He helped prep your dear leader for the debate. His contribution? Encouraging, teaching Trump to exploit Joe Biden’s stutter by constantly interrupting him so it would play into their whole “Joe is senile” narrative. That is pathetic. That is low.
How about the fundraising off Trump’s current condition? A tad exploitative, wouldn’t you say? Seems a little um, unsympathetic?
Here’s another — Joe Biden pulled his ads that could be seen as attacking. He, his wife, Kamala, Doug, the Obamas — all sent wishes for Trump’s recovery. Trump’s campaign? Public refusal to pull anything, and right on the heels of President Obama sending best wishes, they sent out a fundraising email referring to him as Lyin’ Obama.
These whining hypocrites are the people who have elevated Kyle Rittenhouse into a hero and donated a half million dollars to a GoFundMe after he slaughtered 2 people in the street. The people who fill Facebook and Twitter with open threats of violence should Trump lose the election. Low.
Low — it is literally all they know. And that is where they must be fought and held accountable for their actions. They must be dragged into the light.
FOX News has done nothing but switch from one personality to the next, hour after hour — the morning dipshits, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity — blasting the COVID response, encouraging the science deniers, mocking anyone who has urged caution, downplaying masks (still last night), up-playing hydroxychloroquine, ignoring the very real stats as they have mounted. But last night, there was Sean lecturing us all about decency. We’re SO mean. Oh, the Seanhannity!
Hannity: You would think it’s not a time for divisive politics. Certainly not a time for bizarre conspiracy theories and endless speculation. It might be a time to actually be somewhat decent pic.twitter.com/laAnZUYDc0

Forgive me, but I won’t be lectured on decency by the man who has made a career out of tormenting the grieving family of Seth Rich with his parade of endless conspiracy bullshit.
I find it comical how many MAGAts are filling social media with shock and more conspiracy theories about how is it possible that so many Republicans have come up positive all of the sudden?!?! Gee, Karen, I dunno. Surely it couldn’t be the SCIENCE we have been trying to beat into your soft heads all this time? It could not have anything to do with conservatives ignoring it all right down the line, right? And it surely could have nothing to do with a Rose Garden stuffed to the gills with no distancing or masks in sight?
The video and photos from that event are infuriating. With 50,000 new cases of COVID now being our daily average; with our daily dead between 800–1,000 — there they all were, lovin’, touchin’, squeezin’ each other. Millions of us have isolated from our friends, families for MONTHS now. We have not hugged anyone unless they live with us. We miss our adult kids. We don’t see our elderly parents. I have not seen my kids — one since June, two since July. When I saw one of them to help her move across the country, she flung herself on me like a drowning person and would not let go. My heart broke. She had not been touched by another human being since February. I live in the same town as my parents, but I do not see them because I do not want to risk their health.
That is compassion. That is sympathy. That is empathy, you vile stooges. That is called considering the greater good. We wear masks not just for ourselves, we do it for other people. We quarantine, we limit our activities, we distance whenever possible. We follow the science, we listen to the experts who have dedicated their lives to learning and understanding what we are facing. That is no more an abdication of our rights than is taking our car to a mechanic when it starts to malfunction. We listen to those who know how to fix it.
You don’t. You shit your pants, throw your tantrums in grocery stores and Targets, and drone on endlessly about your rights being infringed upon. You attend weddings and end up infecting and killing people who were not even there. One last time for the cheap seats: WEARING A MASK IS NOT SLAVERY. WEARING A MASK IS TO HELP STOP THE SPREAD. WEARING A MASK DOES NOT COMPROMISE YOUR OXYGEN LEVELS. WEARING A MASK IS WHAT DECENT, CARING, SMART PEOPLE DO FOR ONE ANOTHER.
Your hero and all his sycophants are now facing the music. The chickens are coming home to roost, as it were. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
So yeah, I am calling them out. I am calling YOU out. You all deserve the shame and being forced to take ownership of your poor choices. And in this case, having done everything I can — like so many other people — I have a leg to stand on here, hell I have two legs to stand on as opposed to the quickly growing list of GOPers who are finding themselves flat on their backs.
I do not wish death on them. What I wish on them is to have their eyes opened by this. I wish them common sense, humility, probity, the ability to admit they were WAY FUCKING WRONG. But if the likes of Steve Scalise are any indicator of future GOP behavior, they will learn nothing. He was shot, and is still an NRA bootlicking asshole.
So the next time you get ready to lambast any of us for shaming these people, for shaming you, for mentioning karma, for calling Trump out and holding you all accountable? Save your breath. Given your behavior, you may need it.
